Security forces report operations in Shaban, Kech and Quetta West

Security forces reported that 19 militants were killed in separate operations across Balochistan between September 21 and September 23, 2026, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Following exchanges of fire, 13 militants were reported killed.

The military's statement also said that weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the cleared hideouts.

ISPR said the clearance operation would continue until the reported threat in the area was neutralised.

Operations in Kech and Quetta West

In separate engagements on September 22 and 23, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Kech district and Quetta West, according to ISPR.

The military said that six more militants were killed during exchanges of fire in these operations.

Weapons and ammunition were also reported to have been recovered.

Together with the 13 reported deaths in Shaban, the operations brought the total reported number of militants killed to 19.

Subedar Muhammad Jamil of Taunsa Sharif

The operations also resulted in the death of a Pakistani soldier.

According to ISPR, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, aged 39, was killed during an exchange of fire.

Jamil was a resident of Taunsa Sharif in Dera Ghazi Khan district.

His connection to Taunsa Sharif gives the incident particular relevance for communities in the wider Saraiki region.

Pakistan's state broadcaster and Geo News both reported his identity and death based on the military's statement.

ISPR's Statement

ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, would continue.

The military also stated that security forces and law-enforcement agencies remained committed to countering what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
